Number, Block and Tile Puzzles

If you've never played 2048 Classic, start there: slide tiles with the arrow keys, merge matching numbers, and try to build a 2048 tile before the board fills up. Our own Pizza 2048 uses the same rules with pizza-ingredient tiles. Block games like Block Blast Jewel have you drag shapes onto a grid to clear full rows and columns, while Pizza Blocks is our falling-block take on line clearing.

For calmer sessions, Mahjong Classic is about matching identical free tiles from the edges of the layout, and Sudoku Classic runs from easy to expert, with hints for when you're stuck and auto-save for when you need to stop halfway.

Logic, Word and Co-op Puzzles

Bloxorz is pure spatial thinking: roll a block across 3D platforms and drop it into the goal hole without tipping off the edge. Word fans can try Word Cross, where you swipe across a circle of letters to fill a crossword grid, or WordMix, which asks you to spot the hidden theme linking groups of words.

Some puzzles are better with a partner. In Fireboy and Watergirl: Forest Temple, each player controls one character, and because Fireboy can't touch water and Watergirl can't touch fire, you have to work out every room together. The series also appears in our platformer games and 2 player games sections.

How to Choose a Puzzle Game

Think about how much time and attention you have. Block and tile games like Block Blast Jewel and 2048 Classic work in short bursts, because each move takes a second and you can stop between moves. Logic puzzles such as Bloxorz and Sudoku Classic suit a longer, quieter session where you can plan several steps ahead. Word games sit in between and make a nice change of pace when numbers start to blur together. If you get stuck, step away for a minute; a fresh look at the board often reveals the move you missed.

Puzzle Games FAQ

What's the difference between 2048 Classic and Pizza 2048?

The rules are the same: slide the board and merge matching tiles into bigger ones. 2048 Classic uses numbers and lets you change the animation speed in its settings. Pizza 2048 is our own version, built for The Pizza Edition, with pizza ingredients on the tiles instead of numbers.

Are there puzzle games without a time limit?

Yes. Word Cross has no time limit at all, and Sudoku Classic saves automatically so you can come back to a grid later. If you like a bit of pressure, Block Blast Jewel lets you choose between Classic, Timer and Level modes.

Which puzzle games can two people play together?

The Fireboy and Watergirl series is built for co-op on one keyboard, with one player on WASD and the other on the arrow keys. Start with Fireboy and Watergirl: Forest Temple and work forward; Fireboy and Watergirl 5: Elements revisits every temple from the earlier games.
